Meet Our Founder
Remington’s love for backgammon began in childhood, when she and her group of six friends would gather every weekend, captivated by the game's strategy and thrill. When she moved to NYC in January 2023, she eagerly sought out local backgammon events, only to discover that opportunities were few and far between. Even more surprising was the lack of women and younger players in their 20s and 30s.
Determined to change this, Remington founded the club in April 2023, starting with just seven participants. What began as a small gathering has quickly grown into a thriving community of thousands of passionate players attending weekly events. Now, she’s dedicating her career to expanding the backgammon scene not only in NYC but also across the country, with a focus on making the game more inclusive and welcoming to all.
Her mission is simple: to build a vibrant, diverse community where everyone, regardless of experience or background, can come together and enjoy the game of backgammon.
